Founded in 1975, Black Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles, Inc. is a non-profit corporation whose mission is dedicated to charitable, educational and community-based services, and addressing the needs and concerns of African-American women in the legal profession.

This special endowment, in memory of Justice Spencer, will enable high achieving Southwestern students who receive a judicial externship with an award. The fund may also provide scholarship support to Southwestern students.
Our Pro Bono committee provides much needed legal support to the community through various initiatives and partnerships. Under the leadership of our Pro Bono Chair, we will continue to support the FAME Legal Clinic, Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law, and support the Mayor’s Fund for Los Angeles’ We Are LA SHLA Pro Bono Homelessness Prevention Program.
